Closet Christians Take A Stand (Video Test)

I was real tentative to share this at first. I mentioned a few posts ago about how I wanted to start doing V-Logs (Video Blogs) every once in a while. Yesterday, I decided to do a test run to see how it would work, and figure out what I need to do when I start doing them ‘officially.’

When I post these in the future, I plan on making them more polished, and hopefully not as convicting.

So any who, here is my trial run.

Here is the original scrip I worked off of. I added and removed some parts as I was recording it.

Closet Christian

Here is a picture of an 8 year old boy who died in yesterdays bombings.

Yesterdays Boston bombings was a huge wakeup call to me. You never know when the people around you are going to be taken from this world. It upsets me deeply to have heard about the death of the 8 year old boy waiting for his father at the finish line.

But there is a much deeper issue going on that we forget about in the comforts of our own home. Too many people are dying while our Father in Heaven, is waiting on us at the ultimate finish line.

Look around you, look at the people in your life. Your family members. Your coworkers. Your friends. If they were to be gone today, would they be united with our Father in Heaven, or will they be put in the pits of Hell for eternity?

It’s a hard thought to deal with. Maybe I’m going to far with this, maybe I need to lighten up a bit. But is eternal damnation something to be taken lightly?!

Is our fear of sharing our faith more important than the life of our friends, family and neighbors?!

The seeds you plant, WILL NOT save everyone you share your faith with. In fact I guarantee you will fail at least 95% of the time. But the fact is, people die everyday, from unexpected events. What we don’t know is where they are going to spend eternity.

My intention isn’t to use a scar tactic to push others to spread God’s Word, but for us, including myself, to be aware, there is a war out there! What part are you taking in fighting the war? You don’t need to go push Christ on everyone you see and meet. But rather, just take a step out of your comfort zone and don’t be afraid to share Christ when the opportunity presents itself.

We are called to be ambassadors of Christ, it is all of our responsibilities to represent Christ to the world. Like John the Baptist, we are to point the way to Christ through our actions and our words. Others are to look at us and say

, “Woah, now there is a radical person living outside of the norms of this world. There is a person who has much love and forgiveness to give. How can I be more like them?”

Sin is everywhere. We as Christians need to step out of the closet and show others the power of Christ’s love and forgiveness.

I’m sick of it, I’m sick of the actions of sin. Are you ready to take a stand?

Hell is Real

I think I may have posted something similar to this in the past. Despite that, it was on my mind last night and I wanted to share my thoughts. What if Jesus came back tonight? or even tomorrow? Will you be ready? Would you be able to say,  I have lived my life to the fullest? Or would you say “Jesus, not yet! I’m not ready! I still have things to do!” Would you run away and try to hide from Him like Adam and Eve did in the garden of Eden? How would your feel about Him coming back tonight? When I ask myself this question, I know I don’t feel ready. Of course I would love to be in Heaven! I can’t think of a place I would rather be! But that doesn’t mean I am ready. I don’t have any interest in enjoying earthly pleasures over Heaven. My conflict lies in the dilemma that I still want to do more for the Lord. I feel very similar to how Paul felt, he really wanted to be in Heaven, but he wanted to be here as well so he would witness to more people. My biggest reason however for not being ready is not for the things I have yet to do for the Lord, but the things I haven’t done yet. I keep saying I want to do things for the Lord. Example, start a bible study, bring Jesus into all my conversations, start a youth ministry, be more active in the Church, be as bold/Courageous as Paul, be a leader like Moses and Joshua, point the Way like John the Baptist, and etc. In reality I’m still living each day like before, without pushing to do anything for the Lord, just dreaming of it. Don’t we all do this? We always got tomorrow, I have to much to do right now any ways. We all have our excuses. The fact of the matter is Hell is real, and Jesus is coming back. Are you living as if there is no Hell? If so, STOP! As I said in a pervious post, when you die, how will you be remembered as, A Pickle lover?

If Jesus came back tonight, would you be ready? Let’s do the job Jesus called us to “go and make disciples of all nations [..]”

Love of God – PRICELESS

Today I want to do a two part blog about foolishness. This first one will be about self-image and the second will be about money. I will be the first to admit that I am a huge fool, and these two subjects have been on my mind all morning.

All my life I have been taught to accept my self the way I am, to be proud of who I am, and to stay original. I have kept this close to my heart and done by best to abide by it.  Recently however I realized, I have done the oposite of that. I have been spending lots of money trying to fit in, and to look good. I have put upon myself a horrible self imagine, and I am constantly worried about how I look. An example to be used is I have a particulr outfit that costs me $519 before taxes!

  • Skinny Jeans – $78
  • Button up shirt – $88
  • Vest – $58
  • Bow Tie – $20
  • Shoes – $150
  • Jacket – $100
  • Hat – $25

That is an absoute foolish amount of money to spend on clothes, let alone just one outfit! But yet I continue to do it. I continually waste money buying the best clothes so that I can look good to others around me.

Luke 12:27

Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

I love this verse because it is a great reminder that no matter how much money you have, you can never buy beauty. But yet we are foolish enough to try to believe so.

Luke 12:34

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Where we spend our money is where our heart is. How can we tell God we love Him and put Him first, but yet at the same time spend so much money trying to look good.

Matthew 6:24

No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.

We can’t serve both God and money, or God and our self imagine. If we look at some of the characters from the bible we can see that they did so much work for God, and had horrible outward appearances. For example we got John the Baptist. He never bathed or shaved and his diet consist of honey and locust. We have Samson who never shaved his head, Samuel who never shaved his head, Leah who was ugly, and Isiah straight up preached naked.

Matthew 3:4

John’s clothes were made of camel’s hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.

Judges 16:17

So he told her everything. “No razor has ever been used on my head,” he said, “because I have been a Nazirite dedicated to God from my mother’s womb. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as any other man.”

1 Samuel 1:11

And she made a vow, saying, “LORD Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.”

Genesis 29:17

Leah had weak eyes, but Rachel was lovely in form, and beautiful.

Isaiah 20:2-3

the Lord told Isaiah son of Amoz, “Take off the burlap you have been wearing, and remove your sandals.” Isaiah did as he was told and walked around naked and barefoot.
Then the Lord said, “My servant Isaiah has been walking around naked and barefoot for the last three years.

So the point is our outward appearance means nothing to the Lord, all He wants from us is to serve Him whole heartedly. No amount of money is going to buy God’s love. It is a free gift given to us. God has accepted us just the way we are and calls us to Him!
